Ride The Wave 25
Greetings!
I’ve lost momentum writing. Let’s get it started after a blessed summer break.
Song of the Summer: “Angels Workin' Overtime”
This year has shown how random and precious life is. Much of life is outside our control.
“You could leave life right now. Let that determine what you do and say and think.” - Marcus Aurelius

The position size won’t equal 100%. I have small positions that I like to watch/track and build to. Once a company’s position size is greater than $VTI/VOO, I will add it to the table.

Fostering
A perfect epidemic activity. Challenging, rewarding, and fun.
Our experience included:
them grabbing, devouring, and/or chewing shoes, iPhones, car keys, bird/cat/human food, trash bags, napkins.
Wells, the first foster dog, was a magician when it came to making food disappear.
pic below is minutes before him throwing up in my friend’s truck.
5 puppies ended up being easier than Wells. I was very hesitant to agree to this. Surprisingly, they kept each other entertain. 100% would do it again.
potty training (worst part). Keep them outside as much as possible.
(Back to Wells adventures)
exploring the neighbors yards a handful of times without returning or acknowledging our calls to him.
escaping from the fenced-in deck TWICE.
Reflections from fostering.
Try fostering if you're unsure about the responsibility long term.
dogs bring energy and keep you in the present moment
dogs get you outside and active
and as a clumsy eater, one of my favorite things is how useful they are cleaning food spills
Fostering is great because it gives you more flexibility and resources.
for example, Wells ate a dark chocolate bar. I was able to get advice immediately from a volunteer at the animal shelter.
No bad aftermath from the dark chocolate incident, thankfully.
My parents ended up keeping one of the 5 pups. Toni! She is a little older than 4 months and around 20 pounds. I imagine she will get close to 25 or 30 pounds. We tried to keep one of her sisters, but apparently litter mates are awful to raise together and against the shelter’s policy.
Toni is the sweetest pup I’ve been around. Girl dogs seem calmer than boys. The other exciting end about our COVID fostering experience is the fence my family is building, so we can house more foster dogs.
Our 10-year-old cat enjoys wrestling with Toni. Quality entertainment during social distancing times.
Moving
I made a move at the end of July! It’s exceeded expectations. My roommate and I express gratitude daily over the arrangement. And we are already dreading the day we move out.
It seems like there should be an app for apartments to sell/store things like eBay/craigslist. This thought came to me when I saw valuables in our apartment trash area.
What do you do?
I’ve had trouble answering this question since my new job in February. The company I work for is a conglomerate and my title is Systems and Applications Administrator. Which means the responsibilities and roles are robust. I’m not sure if this is the best way to answer, but I think it’s important to hit the main points. You can always ramble on if the person asking is still interested.
I’m an engineer that works in Salesforce.
I guess that answer is good for now. Salesforce Administrator/Developer if people want to follow up. I create and design apps, reports, and layouts for different teams within my company so they can work more efficiently with data.
Answer 2.
I work for an engineering services company called John Crane. We provide pumps and seals for oil and gas giants. I am on the digital strategy team there. Focused on process improvement. My day to day consists of developing apps and managing data in Salesforce.
If you have any advice on clearly describing your job let me know in the comments.
